Plane to Mass

Using cardboard or poster board, we were asked to contrast rectilinear and curvilinear planes while incorporating texture to create a three-dimensional robot.

Emphasis Through Contrast in Size

In this assignment, we were tasked with creating a clay sculpture that represents a Biblical passage or figure. I chose to do Zacchaeus when he was trying to see see Jesus. I thought this was a great Biblical example of not only physical size but also spiritual size (the size of his faith). Our sculpture had to show a contrast in size in order to have a focal point or area of emphasis. For this project, we also had to learn how to make an armature.
