Architectural Drafting
Line Weight Assignment
One of the most important aspects of hand drafting is accurately depicting line weights. This is done with varying line weights. The thickness and intensity of your lines creates hierarchy in your drawing and also gives dimension.
Stair Section
This was an opportunity for us to work on line weights and lettering while also gaining a better understanding for the engineering of stairs.
Cover Sheet Residential Project
Cover sheets provide a lot of valuable information for the contractor, city officials, and any other involved persons. This project was a chance for us to showcase everything we learned involving hand lettering, abbreviations, and symbols.
ADA Restroom
For this assignment, we were given very specific instructions and parameters. This is true of many ADA compliant spaces. They require careful thought and unmatched intentionality. It can be difficult to design spaces when you don't have the perspective of the user. The same wants and needs I have will not always be the same wants and needs that a client has. So this assignment really challenged me in that way.
