Basic Still Life

We made a series of sketches of everyday objects that we found basic shapes in. We were to keep the light source consistent throughout the sketches. This assignment allowed us to experience depth or volume rather in our art.

Advanced Portrait and Value Study

This exercise expanded on the experience we gained from previous assignments. It took most of everything we learned over the semester and condensed it into one assignment. Using graphite, I recreated Umberto Boccioni's self-portrait.

Space and Perspective

The ability to sense and understand space is essential to drawing, and it remains so for visual thinking in any medium. These exercises acquainted us with the foundation necessary to see and perform spatial relations between objects.
